Weekly Zen Practice
Everyone is invited to join us for practice on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7 pm in the Dance Studio at ArtWaves in Town Hill (see map below for directions).
Our weekly, drop-in practice features alternating periods of sitting and walking meditation and a short sharing of the Buddha’s teachings. All levels of experience, including none, are welcome, and instruction is enthusiastically offered to beginners (please arrive 10-15 minutes early if possible). Meditation cushions and chairs are provided.
True Nature Zen Sangha offers our sessions in accordance with the Buddha’s practice of dana (generosity). Donations of any amount are received with gratitude.
Sundays January 5th, February 2nd, March 1st, and April 5th 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. This three-hour practice has several 30-45 minute periods of sitting meditation and several shorter periods of walking meditation. It also includes more traditional elements of Zen practice: chanting, bowing and teaching on a Zen sutra. It is best suited for those with a regular meditation practice and participants must stay the entire three hours. Beginners are encouraged to attend the Wednesday 6—7 pm weekly Zen practice.
ArtWaves is located at 1345-A State Highway 102, Bar Harbor, Maine 04609. The Dance Studio is the red building at the far end of the parking lot.
